Research and Innovation for Science, Technology and Infrastructure

The mandate of this Working Group is to monitor developments in research and innovation for science, technology and infrastructure, with a particular focus on emerging digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The working group will explore and reflect on the relevant normative, legal and ethical implications; study and promote the role of religious or belief organizations and interreligious engagement; establish and encourage interdisciplinary dialogue amongst experts and actors, private and public; and establish a network of networks in these areas of endeavor.

Although we acknowledge the direct relevance of our mandate to Sustainable Development Goal 9, “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, we recognize the implications of our work for all 17 SDG’s insofar as the SDG’s pertain to the meaning of being human.
